I had an opportunity to do a photo shoot at the UNACAS orphanage, located on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. The children were home from school to eat lunch, when I arrived. For youngsters who have endured so much pain in their short lives, they were surprisingly cheerful and bubbly. UNACAS raises the children with the help of widows. Otherwise destitute, these women bring their children and come to live at the orphanage as well, giving the kids the mothering they need. Everyone appeared remarkably happy and content. It was a very humbling experience for me.
