My top ten favourite: clever advertising

June 14, 2012 in My favourite things on the internet

As a graphic designer, I’m constantly looking to see what other designers are up to, so that I can be inspired, and follow the ever-changing trends of the commercial art world.  I have compiled a list of my top ten favourite ads, and I like them because they are extremely clever.  Many of these are ideas I wish I’d come up with.  Viewing ad campaigns such as the ones below, is a humbling thing to do, and it reminds me that I will spend the rest of my life learning and adapting.

Why not try Helvetica?

Try Helvetica

Today, my favourite thing on the internet is this blog, Try Helvetica.  It’s a tumblr site that allows people to submit before and after shots of establishments with their poorly thought-out signs re-designed in Helvetica.  The after-shot is, of course, photoshopped by the submitter.  Check it out, it’s hilarious and very clever.  My only complaint is, the site seems a bit neglected.
